Eminence, Missouri sits on the banks of the Jacks Fork River inside the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in southeastern Missouri. The community, which is heavily dependent on summer tourism, was devastated in early May 2017 when over 10” of rain dumped on the area and caused the river to rise over 5’ higher than the previous record. Veterans Worldwide crews arrived on Saturday evening, May 6th and went to work early the next morning removing debris so that the various property owners could concentrate on getting their homes and resorts prepared for the start of tourist season at the end of the month.
The crews used two grapple trucks with 50 CY boxes on them, an 80 CY debris trailer, three skid steers with grapple buckets, two roll off trucks and as many as a dozen 30 CY roll off containers to remove flood debris. The debris was staged at the county’s road department lot and then hauled about 50 miles to the nearest solid waste transfer station. The work order was completed in about 10 days.
